You don’t have to be in class to learn

If you have a computer or laptop that you can use at home then that’s great, as it means that you can learn in your own time where and when it suits you.

If you don’t, there are plenty of other options. You can use one at your local library, an internet cafe, community centre or UK online centre. If you’re an absolute beginner to technology, people there will be able to give you help and advice. Many community centres also run technology courses – why not sign up to one?

You should find out if you can borrow any equipment from your school, college or training provider to help you. Many will loan out digital cameras, laptops and video equipment for any projects you need to work on at home.

You can also check out their website to see if it has online learning materials available – if it doesn’t, suggest it to your tutor or trainer.
